Admission Requirements

Admission Requirements to the

Advanced Artistry Development Program

Prospective students will be required to adhere to the following criteria for admission to the AADP:

Prospective students will be required to hold an undergraduate qualification or diploma in opera performance or singing.

Should the student not hold a formal undergraduate qualification, but has been formally employed as a full-time singer with an opera company for a period of more than five years, students may apply for admission to the AADP based on recognition of prior learning (RPL). Should students and their mentors feel that they have attained sufficient prior learning by way of a different developmental path, students may apply for admission through RPL with the necessary motivations provided by their mentors.

Students will be required to submit recent video recordings of two contrasting opera arias as part of their admission process. Digital accompaniment may be used for these recordings if the candidate so wishes.
